Puerto Princesa

Danica Aninao recalls her Puerto Princesa Underground River cruise.

The underground river is the longest navigable of its kind in the world.

PAL in November revealed that it would be replacing its A320 flights to Puerto Princesa with the wide-body A330.

About 550,000 visitors were expected by the city to visit the river in 2011. The increase of flights from thrice to 11 daily helped improve the numbers.

The 4.3 km tour inside the cave takes about 45 minutes.

Tourists usually take the van priced at P3,500 from Puerto Princesa to the river in a 50 km ride. Aside from the transport cost, tourists must pay a general entrance fee, cave tour fee, and boat fee in order to get inside.
